Development of SREDA Communication Strategy and Outreach Plan

In today’s rapidly changing socio-economic landscape, it is important for an organization to have a strategic outlook towards communication and knowledge management. In line with this target, REEEP II has provided technical support to SREDA for updating its Communication & Knowledge management strategy. As SREDA is implementing the National Campaign on Energy Efficiency and Conservation Awareness – an updated communication and outreach is vital for ensuring smooth campaign execution.

To update the strategy in a structured manner, a brainstorming workshop was arranged, where over 60 Participants from SREDA, public and private energy sector organizations, civil society, media, industry associations and youth organizations shared their opinions and ideas about the communication approaches of an innovative organization like SREDA. Key informant interviews were conducted with various stakeholders to understand their perspective and insight on SREDA. To support the execution of such a strategy, it is important to have a sound outreach plan. The outreach plan was developed by the SREDA officials with guidance from national and international experts. To facilitate this process, a training on basic strategic communication theory, design thinking, and organizational communication were also organised in March 2020. After development of the draft strategy and outreach plan, a validation workshop took place. More than 50 sector stakeholders gave their valuable opinion.
